no longer sick

Since haven completed my EMT class and a few Fire Science classes,  I’ve been trying to gain some firefighting experience and so I’ve been applying to Fire Departments who are accepting non-resident  volunteers (in the area I live and surrounding areas, the local fire departments are either not accepting volunteers, or require that you live within their county).  This has proven to be a difficult task because most  departments who do hire such volunteers are usually anywhere from 1-2 hours away.  After applying and playing the waiting game, I finally heard back from the River Delta Fire, located near Rio Vista about an hour from where I live.

Oral board interviews were conducted (consisting of an interview panel made up … Read the rest »

Chicken…TREAT!!!

So, last year Tyler didn’t get much in the way of trick or treating in. This year was different. We went out with another family and Tyler was excited because everyone else was – he just wasn’t sure why everyone was. It became a race to see who could get to the door the quickest, then to see who could ring the door bell first….then Tyler took it to another level, he started to open the doors before the owners could get to it. Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

So, I was waiting for Jake to post some of the new pictures of the kids, but he has been so crazy busy with school and work that I thought I would give you all an update myself.

Here is what we have been up to, my Bengal had kittens she had a total of five, however, there is only one left. I have never dealt with baby kittens and I didn’t know how to help her, but at least we have one!!! I was so devastated. I have decided I will breed her once more hopefully it works out better, if not I am done!

I am still working on finding a phlebotomy job, I finished the program in … Read the rest »

Dora the Toilet Seat

When Lindsey returned home from Southern California around July 4th, we thought it would be nice to potty train Tyler but were unsure how to determine when the right time would be.  Some are able to potty train their kids at 2, while others are potty trained when they are 3 even 4.  I don’t think there is a right or wrong time considering the fact that each kid is different so we decided at 2 1/2 we might as well give it a shot.

Because of his obsession with Dora the Explorer (gag), we bought a Dora the Explorer Potty Training seat which fits over the standard seat.  We went this route instead of a little kids toilet for … Read the rest »

Hot August Nights

I start school August 25th, so I therefore met with my boss who resides in Reno last week to go over a part-time schedule for me.  We worked at a great schedule which allows me to work some days in the office, and the rest at home.  While in Reno, we took the time to throw around some dice in the Circus Circus casino, play some slots where Lindsey won $75, and play all the carnival type games with the kids.  However, the biggest event and entertainment was what is called “Hot August Nights“.  Thousands of people come to check out some of the coolest muscle cars around.  We LOVED it and it is most certainly a new … Read the rest »
